This year was our first ever Christmas away from our biological families, but also the closest we’ve ever come to a white Christmas. We were hoping the snow would help us forget that we weren’t with our families, but only tortured our dreams! Of course it’s now snowing daily, so we’re making the most of living in this winter paradise.Christmas and New Year’s seemingly flew by without us noticing. It’s extremely busy at the hostel, so we spent our days working with guests who were also away for the holidays. On Christmas morning, a group of us made and hosted a free pancake breakfast at Czech Inn, which turned out to be a huge hit! Everything was perfect, except for our homemade maple syrup that crystalize throughout the morning. If anyone has suggestions for a new recipe, please send it our way, because maple syrup is extremely expensive here!It’s now back to our normal life, but thanks to everyone who makes up our amazing family in Prague. We feel extremely blessed to have the great friends here that we consider family!
